Status Quo-Gitarrist Richie Malone adelt Quo-Tributeband FRANTIC QUO mit einem Ritterschlag!

Spektakulärer Auftritt der jungen Ruhrpott-Jungs bei „Rockin´ Hinterland – The Final One“ – Band wird eine große Zukunft vorausgesagt

Mit einem unfassbar grandiosen Auftritt wartete am letzten Wochenende beim legendären „Rockin´ Hinterland“ im hessischen Dautphe die Status Quo-Tributeband FRANTIC QUO auf. Wer bisher immer noch kleine Zweifel an den Qualitäts-Fertigkeiten dieser noch jungen Truppe hatte, dem dürfte spätestens seit Sonntag einleuchten, dass dieser Band absolut die Zukunft gehört.

Rockin´ Hinterland-Veranstalterin Martina Gerlach hatte zu ihrer letzten „The final one-Ausgabe“ noch mal kräftig in ihre große Musikkiste gepackt und Freitags mit „Queen May Rock“ (Queen-Tributeband), Samstag mit „Ballroom Blitz“ (Sweet-Tributeband) und Sonntag mit FRANTIC QUO (Status Quo Tributeband) zum Frühschoppen hervorragende Tributebands verpflichtet. Mit Classic Rock with Darko, Beat radicals und einer Robbie Williams-Tributeband wurde das Festival komplettiert.

Und ihr gelang im Vorfeld ein kleines Husarenstück. Sie lotste zu ihrem letzten Festival keinen Geringeren als Status Quo-Gitarrist Richie Malone auf ihre Bühnenbretter, der zuvor noch in Belgien weilte. Der wiederum ließ es sich nicht nehmen, zusammen mit den jungen Rockern aus dem Ruhrpott etliche Quo-Klassiker live on stage zu spielen. Nach dem Gig adelte er die Tributeband, was für die Jungs sicher mit einem festlichen Ritterschlag gleichzusetzen ist. Doch auch hier der Reihe nach.

Nachdem bekannt war, dass Status Quo-Gitarrist Richie Malone der Einladung nachkommt und er gerne mit der Band einige Hits zusammenspielen wollte, war man im Lager von FRANTIC QUO regelrecht aus dem Häuschen. In Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass die Band gerade mal mehr als ein Jahr auf der Bühne steht und erst ein Dutzend Konzerte gespielt hat, war diese geplante Konstellation sicher etwas absolut Außergewöhnliches.

Die beiden Parfitt & Rossi-Gitarristen Marcel Weißkopf und Hagen Felter konnten ihr Glück kaum in Worte fassen und fieberten dem Datum mit einer riesigen Vorfreude entgegen. Das galt auch für die beiden erfahrenen Marius Ignacczak am Bass und Drummer Thomas Diemer, die zwar altersmäßig über die meiste Bühnenerfahrung verfügten, aber in ihrer langen Musikerzeit ein solch episches Event mit einer echten Musikergröße auch nicht alle Tage erlebten. Außergewöhnlich war diesmal auch die Anfangszeit um 11.00 Uhr morgens, womit man einen gepflegten Frühschoppen damit verbinden konnte.

Als dann auch noch klar war, dass Glamdads-Frontman Alan Crook aus England und Jo Stals aus den benachbarten Niederlanden mit seinen legendären Mundharmonika-Parts ebenfalls für ein paar Quo-Hits die Bühne entern werden, war die phantastische Bühnenkombi perfekt. Die FRANTIC QUO-Crew arbeitete eine TOP-Setliste aus, wo jeder Quo-Kracher auf dem Zettel stand. Nichts wurde mehr dem Zufall überlassen, die jungen Burschen waren sich absolut bewusst, dass diese Zusammenführung sicherlich etwas geschichtsträchtiges hinterlassen wird. Und sie sollten Recht behalten.

Drummer Thomas Diemer holte Richie Malone in Köln am Hauptbahnhof ab und brachte ihn sicher ins 2-Stunden entfernte Dautphetal. Das Event sprach sich wie ein Lauffeuer herum und so war es nicht verwunderlich, dass etliche Quo-Fans aus den benachbarten Ländern anreisten. Manche nahmen einen kilometerträchtigen Tagesbesuch auf sich, andere nutzten ein verlängertes Wochenende im hessischen Dautphetal.

Was viele Besucher sehr angenehm und anerkennend empfanden war die Tatsache, dass Status Quo-Gitarrist Richie Malone an beiden Tagen sehr zugänglich war. So war ein Selfie, ein kurzer Smalltalk, eine Unterschrift oder dass ein oder andere (Guiness-) Bierchen für ihn etwas Selbstverständliches. Richie wird sich bei all dem daran erinnert haben, dass auch er in jungen Jahren einer der Burschen war, die auf der Fanseite standen und sich für die Musik seiner großen Idole begeisterte.

Bereits vor dem Frühschoppen-Gig war im Publikum eine prickelnde Stimmung auszumachen. Wo normalerweise das ein oder andere Bierchen zum Warm-up vor einem Gig fällig war, war für viele erst mal ein starker Kaffee angesagt. Schnell hatten sich die Quo-Fans zusammengefunden, wo seit vielen Jahren eine phantastische Quo-Family gepflegt wird. Ob Kutte, T-Shirt oder einfach nur dabei sein, war hier völlig zweitrangig. Wichtig war einfach dabei sein und so mancher alte Quo-Recke brachte seinen Nachwuchs mit um ihnen zu zeigen, auf welche Rockmusik Vater und Mutter in früherer Zeit gerockt haben.

Und als dann das legendäre Intro „The Drone“ eingespielt wurde, nahm die Quo-Gemeinschaft schnell die Plätze vor der Bühne ein. Marcel Weißkopf hatte gerade auf seiner Telecaster wie gewohnt die ersten Anschläge für „Caroline“ geschrappt, da rastete man vor der Bühne bereits aus. Innerhalb von Sekunden hatte die Band eine rockende Meute vor sich, wie man sie sich wohl nur wünschen konnte. Clever ließ die Equipe dann direkt „Roll over lay down“ folgen, ein Quo-Hammer der heute sagenhafte 50 Jahre alt ist. Mit „Something ´bout you Baby I like“, dem folgenden Ma Kelly´s-Hammer „April, Spring, Summer and Wednesdays“ und „Hold you back“ griff die Band ganz tief in die Quo-Kiste, wo kein Fuß mehr in der Location stillstand.

Danach kam er dann: Richie Malone, der Quo-Gitarrist, der 2016 das große Erbe vom viel zu früh verstorbenen Rick Parfitt angetreten hatte und diesen Part bis heute mit einer großen Leidenschaft und großem Leben neu aufgefüllt hat. Und er legte gleich los. Mit „Rain“ und „Little Lady“ knallte er zusammen mit FRANTIC QUO den begeisterten Quo-Fans gleich zwei weitere Hit-Granaten vor die Füße. Und wieder ging es ins Jahr 1970 zurück, wo das phantastische Ma Kelly´s-Album entstand und mit dem ehemaligen Steamhammer-Hit „Junior´s Wailing“ ein weiterer krachender Blues-Boogie serviert wurde.

Dann wurde es Zeit für den „alten Mann“, Mr. Alan Crook, was hier aber ironisch gemeint ist. Alan war gesundheitlich durch eine Rippenverletzung etwas angeschlagen, konnte nur mit Hilfe auf die Bühne klettern, ließ sich aber einen gemeinsamen Auftritt mit Richie Malone und den Ruhrpott-Jungs nicht nehmen. Dazu passte dann auch gleich die 72er Rossi&Young-Shuffle-Nummer „Don´t Waste My Time“. Mit „Blue Eyed Lady“ wurde nachgelegt und danach verließen Alan & Richie unter tosendem Beifall die Bühne und überließen den FRANTIC QUO wieder die Bühnenbretter.

Alan wurde gleich am „Englischen Tisch“ bei seinen Freunden Mark Greenwood und Steve Beales, die extra aus UK angereist waren, mit einem leckeren Bierchen empfangen. Auf der Bühne spielte sich dann FRANTIC QUO in einen wahren Rausch. Mit „Backwater“ und dem danach folgenden „Again and Again“ wurde Marcel „Parfitt“ und Hagen „Rossi“ stimmlich auf das Höchste gefordert. Da war es dann auch mehr als verständlich, dass man mit dem 70er-Schinken „In My Chair“ eine kleine „spielerische Bühnenpause“ einstreute.

Für die nächsten zwei Quo-Knaller „Break the Rules“ und den „Roadhouse Blues“ holte sich FRANTIC QUO neben Alan Crook auch Jo Stals als Verstärkung auf die Bühne. Jo ist gerade mit seinen phantastischen Mundharmonika-Fähigkeiten kein unbeschriebenes Blatt in der Musikszene. Kein Wunder also, dass der Niederländer in früherer Zeit schon des Öfteren bei John Coghlan´s Quo live auf der Bühne mitgewirkt hat. Gerade der Doors-Klassiker „Roadhouse Blues“, war auch für Basser Marius Ignacczak die persönliche Herausforderung, den er stimmlich mit viel Leidenschaft und der vielzitierten Whiskystimme rüberbrachte.

Nachdem die Gäste Alan & Jo wieder die Bühne verlassen hatten, leiteten die vier FRANTIC QUO-Männer nochmal ein brachiales Finale ein. Mit „Down Down“, „Whatever you want“, „Rockin´ All over the World” und natürlich „Bye Bye Johnny“ unterstrich die Band mehr als eindrucksvoll, dass sie längst ein neues Level einer bestechenden Quo-Tributeband erreicht hat. Der ganz große Schlussteil war dann wirklich was für die Geschichtsbücher. Nochmals kam Richie auf die Bühne und sie rockten mit „Paper Plane“ einen weiteren Kracher von 1972 auf der Bühne.

Dann war Schluss, der letzte Riff gespielt, der letzte Trommelschlag gefallen und die neuen Legenden aus dem Dautphetal präsentierten sich mit einem tollen Abschiedsbild. Vom Publikum gab es minutenlange Ovationen, die nicht nur die Band-Gäste lobten, sondern auch der jungen Quo-Tributeband FRANTIC QUO den verdienten Applaus und die Anerkennung zukommen ließ, die sie sich verdient hatte.

Nach dem Gig gab es nur zufriedene Gesichter im Publikum, denn das was FRANTIC QUO dort an spielerischer Qualität lieferte, war in Anbetracht des kurzen Bandbestehen nun wirklich vom anderen Stern. Es passte einfach alles genau auf den Punkt. Die Fans dürfen sich glücklich schätzen, dass es eine weitere phantastische Quo-Tributeband gibt, die das Werk von Status Quo auch noch in vielen Jahren weiter in die Welt tragen werden. Zufriedene Gesichter gab es natürlich auch bei der Band, die mit einem berechtigten Stolz danach das Mengenbad genießen konnte.

FRANTIC QUO erfreute sich danach einer immer größer werdenden Fangemeinde und viele lobten die Crew verdientermaßen in den höchsten Tönen. Das größte Lob kam von Richie Malone, was für die junge FQ-Band wie ein Ritterschlag war. „Die Jungs haben das spielerisch großartig gemacht. Das hat richtigen Spaß gemacht und auch wenn die Band noch nicht lange zusammen ist, sind sie jetzt schon reif für einen Trip nach England“, was bei den Ruhrpott-Burschen natürlich wie Öl runterging.

Und auch andere Besucher waren nur voll des Lobes über die Band:

Jo Stals (aus den Niederlanden): „Die Band ist wirklich Klasse. Sie hat den richtigen Dampf, die Power und das Tempo. Wenn die Jungs mal 5 Jahre auf der Bühne stehen, werden sie sicher eine Sonderstellung einnehmen.“

Alan Crook (Glamdads-Frontman): „Das ist eine tolle Band, die bereits sehr weit ist. Es hat mir großen Spaß gemacht mit ihnen auf der Bühne zu stehen. Ich hoffe auf ein Wiedersehen.“

Peter Decker (Konzertveranstalter): „Also ich fahre heute 450 Km wegen dieser Band und kann nur sagen, dass jeder Kilometer es wert war. Die Band ist absolut TOP und es ist wunderbar, dass sie am 28. Oktober in Zülpich auf dem Status Quo-Fantreffen spielt. Ein Segen, dass es sie gibt.“

Bas Klein (aus Belgien angereist): „Was für ein wunderschöner Sonntag mit der (bisher) besten Quo-Coverband und mit tollen Gästen (Alan Crook, Jo Stals, Richie Malone). Vielen Dank an Martina Gerlach und ihr Team für diese letzte Rockin‘ Hinterland–Dautphe-Ausgabe. Schön, dass das möglich ist. Und zum Abschluss gibt es noch ein Wiener Schnitzel…“

Harald Zander mit Freundin Andrea (aus Wiesbaden angereist): „Das war einfach unglaublich. Das habe ich so nicht erwartet. Ein ganz großes Kompliment an FRANTIC QUO. Das war einfach brillant. Da hat sich das frühe Aufstehen sowas von gelohnt.“

Martina Gerlach (Veranstalterin Rockin´ Hinterland): „Ich bin einfach geflasht. Das ist unglaublich. Am Freitag die Queen-Band, gestern die Sweet-Band und jetzt die Quo-Tributeband. Mir fehlen echt die Worte. Das war echt der Hammer.“

Guido Bel (vorzeitiger Abbruch seines Holland-Urlaubes und Anreise aus Köln): „Das war heute ganz großes Kino bei Rockin´ Hinterland mit FRANTIC QUO und Richie Malone, Alan Crook und Jo Stals als Gäste. Kein Wunder das die Quo-Gemeinde aus allen Himmelsrichtungen erschien.“

Helen McCutcheon Nickenig (gebürtige Schottin aus Glasgow): „Es war unglaublich was die Band und die Bühnengäste abgeliefert haben. Sie werden von Gig zu Gig immer besser und besser.“

Roelof Heethuis (mit Simone aus Groningen/NL angereist): “Diese Band ist wirklich super. Toll das wir alten Quo-Fans das noch haben. Und Danke für die signierten Drummer-Sticks, die einen ehrenwerten Platz bekommen werden.“

Silke und Fiona Tomas (aus Rostock angereist): „Wir haben uns riesig gefreut Richie wiederzusehen, den wir erstmal richtig begrüßen mussten. Und der Auftritt von ihm, Alan, Jo zusammen mit FRANTIC QUO war dann wirklich der Hammer. Der große Aufwand hat sich absolut gelohnt.“

Josef Nitschke (selbst jahrelanger Parfitt-Gitarrist in einer Quo-Tributeband): „Ich kann das alles nur aus dem Netz beurteilen was ich so zu lesen und sehen bekomme. Und da muss ich eines klar sagen: Meinen größten Respekt das alles so authentisch zu spielen, da steckt eine harte Arbeit dahinter. Wirklich klasse.“

Auch für Veranstalterin Martina Gerlach war es ein würdiges Final-Wochenende, wo nochmal alles reingepackt wurde. Mit „Rockin´ Hinterland VIII – The final one“ endet eine große Kultveranstaltung, die ihren Platz in den Geschichtsbüchern sicher finden wird. Martina will in Zukunft etwas kürzertreten und mehr Zeit für sich, Mann, Familie und Restaurant haben. Das soll sie auch haben, aber die große Quo-Family und alle Hinterland-Besucher können sie nur mit einem ganz großen Dankeschön für acht wunderbare aufregende Rockin´ Hinterland-Festivals in den „Ruhestand“ entlassen. „Mach et juut, mein Siechburjer Määdche“.

FRANTIC QUO hat hingegen schon den nächsten Auftritt auf dem Schirm. Am 2. September geht’s nach Recklinghausen zum „Rock am Hafen goes Vestland“, einem zweitägigen Rockfestival, was in Musikerkreisen auch als das „kleine Wacken des Ruhrpotts“ bezeichnet wird. FQ steht Samstag um 16.30 Uhr auf der Bühne. Wer also noch nichts vorhat, kann für einen Eintrittspreis von nur 0,99 EUR (!!!) die Status Quo-Rocker wieder live auf der Bühne sehen.

Spectacular performance by the young Ruhrpott boys at „Rockin‘ Hinterland – The Final One“ – the band is predicted to have a great future

The Status Quo tribute band FRANTIC QUO came up with an incredibly grandiose performance last weekend at the legendary „Rockin‘ Hinterland“ in Dautphe in Hessen. Anyone who still had small doubts about the quality skills of this still young group should have realized by Sunday at the latest that this band absolutely belongs to the future.

Rockin‘ Hinterland organizer Martina Gerlach packed her big music box again for her last „The final one edition“ and on Fridays with „Queen May Rock“ (Queen tribute band), Saturday with „Ballroom Blitz“ (Sweet tribute band) and Sunday with FRANTIC QUO (Status Quo Tributeband) committed to the morning pint excellent tribute bands. The festival was rounded off with Classic Rock with Darko, Beat radicals and a Robbie Williams tribute band.

And she managed a small feat in advance. At her last festival, she lured none other than Status Quo guitarist Richie Malone, who was previously in Belgium, onto her stage. He, in turn, took the opportunity to play several Quo classics live on stage together with the young rockers from the Ruhr area. After the gig he ennobled the tribute band, which for the boys is equivalent to a festive accolade. But also here in order.

After it became known that Status Quo guitarist Richie Malone would accept the invitation and that he would like to play some hits with the band, everyone in the FRANTIC QUO camp was really excited. Considering the fact that the band has been on stage for just over a year and have only played a dozen concerts, this planned constellation was definitely something absolutely extraordinary.

The two Parfitt & Rossi guitarists Marcel Weißkopf and Hagen Felter could hardly put their happiness into words and were looking forward to the date with great anticipation. This also applied to the two experienced Marius Ignacczak on bass and drummer Thomas Diemer, who, given their age, had the most stage experience, but in their long career as musicians, it was not every day that they experienced such an epic event with a real musician. The starting time at 11:00 a.m. was also unusual this time, with which one could combine a cultivated morning pint.

When it was also clear that Glamdads frontman Alan Crook from England and Jo Stals from the neighboring Netherlands would also take the stage for a few Quo hits with his legendary harmonica parts, the fantastic stage combination was perfect. The FRANTIC QUO crew worked out a TOP set list, where every Quo cracker was on the list. Nothing was left to chance anymore, the young lads were absolutely aware that this merger would surely leave something of history in their wake. And they should be right.

Drummer Thomas Diemer picked up Richie Malone in Cologne at the main train station and brought him safely to Dautphetal, 2 hours away. Word of the event spread like wildfire, so it was not surprising that a number of Quo fans came from neighboring countries. Some undertook a mile-long day visit, others used a long weekend in the Hessian Dautphetal.

What many attendees found most enjoyable and appreciative was the fact that Status Quo guitarist Richie Malone was very approachable on both days. So a selfie, a short small talk, a signature or a (Guinness) beer or two was something he took for granted. Richie will have remembered that when he was young he was also one of the guys who were on the fan page and was enthusiastic about the music of his big idols.

Even before the morning pint gig, there was a tingling atmosphere in the audience. Where normally a beer or two was due to warm up before a gig, for many a strong coffee was the order of the day. The Quo fans quickly got together, where a fantastic Quo family has been cultivated for many years. Whether it was a Quo jacket, a T-shirt or just being there was completely secondary here. It was important to be there and some old Quo warriors brought their offspring along to show them what rock music father and mother used to rock to.

And when the legendary intro „The Drone“ was played, the Quo community quickly took their seats in front of the stage. Marcel Weißkopf had just scraped the first stringhits for „Caroline“ on his Telecaster, as usual, when everyone in front of the stage was already freaking out. Within seconds the band had in front of them a rocking pack of the kind one could only wish for. The team then cleverly followed up with „Roll over lay down“, a Quo hammer that is now an incredible 50 years old. With „Something ‚bout you Baby I like“, the following Ma Kelly’s hammer „April, Spring, Summer and Wednesdays“ and „Hold you back“ the band reached deep into the Quo box, where no foot in the location came to a standstill.

Then he came: Richie Malone, the Quo guitarist, who in 2016 inherited the great legacy from Rick Parfitt, who died far too early, and who has filled this part with great passion and great life to this day. And he started right away. With „Rain“ and „Little Lady“ he and FRANTIC QUO threw two more hit grenades at the feet of the enthusiastic Quo fans. It’s back to 1970 again, where the fantastic Ma Kelly’s album was born and another smashing blues boogie was served up with the former Steamhammer hit „Junior’s Wailing“.

Then it was time for the „old man“, Mr. Alan Crook, which is meant ironically here. Alan was in poor health due to a rib injury, could only climb onto the stage with help, but did not miss a joint performance with Richie Malone and the Ruhrpott boys. The ´72 Rossi & Young shuffle number „Don’t Waste My Time“ went well with this. „Blue Eyed Lady“ was followed up and then Alan & Richie left the stage to thunderous applause and left the stage boards to FRANTIC QUO again.

Alan was welcomed with a nice beer at the „English table“ by his friends Mark Greenwood and Steve Beales, who had traveled all the way from the UK. FRANTIC QUO played himself into a real frenzy on stage. With „Backwater“ and the following „Again and Again“ Marcel „Parfitt“ and Hagen „Rossi“ were vocally challenged to the max. So it was more than understandable that they interspersed a little „playful stage break“ with the 70s ham „In My Chair“.

For the next two Quo hits „Break the Rules“ and the „Roadhouse Blues“ FRANTIC QUO got Alan Crook and Jo Stals on stage as backup. With his fantastic harmonica skills, Jo is not a blank slate in the music scene. So it’s no wonder that the Dutchman has often performed live on stage with John Coghlan’s Quo in the past. The Doors classic „Roadhouse Blues“ in particular was also a personal challenge for bassist Marius Ignacczak, which he delivered with a lot of passion and the much-cited whiskey voice.

After the guests Alan & Jo had left the stage again, the four FRANTIC QUO men started another brutal finale. With „Down Down“, „Whatever you want“, „Rockin‘ All over the World“ and of course „Bye Bye Johnny“ the band more than impressively underlined that they have long since reached a new level of a captivating Quo tribute band. The big final part was really something for the history books.

Richie came on stage again and they rocked another hit from 1972 on stage with „Paper Plane“. Then it was over, the last riff played, the last drumbeat fell and the new legends from the Dautphetal presented themselves with a great farewell picture. The audience gave a minute-long ovation, which not only praised the band guests, but also gave the young Quo tribute band FRANTIC QUO the applause and recognition they deserved.

After the gig there were only satisfied faces in the audience, because what FRANTIC QUO delivered there in terms of playing quality was really from the other star, considering the band’s short existence. Everything was just right on point. The fans can count themselves lucky that there is another fantastic Quo tribute band that will continue to carry the work of Status Quo into the world for many years to come. Of course, there were also satisfied faces from the band, who could then enjoy the crowd bath with justifiable pride.

FRANTIC QUO then enjoyed an ever-growing fan base and many deservedly praised the crew in the highest tones. The greatest praise came from Richie Malone, which was like an accolade for the fledgling FQ band. „The boys did a great job. That was real fun and even if the band hasn’t been together for long, they’re already ready for a trip to England“, which of course went down like oil with the Ruhrpott lads.

And other visitors were only full of praise for the band:

Jo Stals (from the Netherlands): “The band is really great. She has the right steam, power and pace. When the guys are on stage for 5 years, they will definitely have a special position.”

Alan Crook (Glamdads frontman): “This is a great band that has come a long way. I really enjoyed being on stage with them. I hope to see you again.”

Peter Decker (concert promoter): „Well, today I drive 450 km because of this band and I can only say that every kilometer was worth it. The band is absolutely TOP and it’s wonderful that they’re playing at the Status Quo fan meeting in Zülpich on October 28th. A blessing that they exist.”

Bas Klein (travelled from Belgium): “What a wonderful Sunday with the best Quo cover band (so far) and great guests (Alan Crook, Jo Stals, Richie Malone). Many thanks to Martina Gerlach and her team for this last Rockin‘ Hinterland Dautphe issue. Nice that this is possible. And finally there is a Wiener Schnitzel…”

Harald Zander with his girlfriend Andrea (travelled from Wiesbaden): „It was just unbelievable. I didn’t expect that. A big compliment to FRANTIC QUO. That was brilliant. So getting up early was so worth it.”

Martina Gerlach (Organizer Rockin‘ Hinterland): „I was just blown away. That’s incredible. Friday the Queen band, yesterday the Sweet band and now the Quo tribute band. I’m really at a loss for words. That was really awesome.“

Guido Bel (early termination of his vacation in Holland and arrival from Cologne): „Today it was great cinema at Rockin‘ Hinterland with FRANTIC QUO and Richie Malone, Alan Crook and Jo Stals as guests. No wonder the Quo congregation appeared from all directions.”

Helen McCutcheon Nickenig (native Scottish from Glasgow): “It was incredible what the band and the stage guests delivered. They just keep getting better and better from gig to gig.”

Roelof Heethuis (arrived with Simone from Groningen/NL): “This band is really great. Great that we old Quo fans still have it. And thank you for the signed drummer sticks, which will have a place of honor.”

Silke and Fiona Tomas (arrived from Rostock): „We were really happy to see Richie again, whom we really had to greet first. And the performance of him, Alan, Jo together with FRANTIC QUO was really amazing. The great effort was absolutely worth it.”

Josef Nitschke (himself a Parfitt guitarist in a Quo tribute band for years): “I can only judge everything I read and see from the internet. And I have to make one thing clear: I have the greatest respect for playing it all so authentically, there is a lot of hard work behind it. Really good.“

It was also a worthy final weekend for organizer Martina Gerlach, where everything was packed again. With „Rockin‘ Hinterland VIII – The final one“ ends a big cult event that will surely find its place in the history books. Martina wants to take things a little easier in the future and have more time for herself, her husband, her family and the restaurant. They should have that too, but the big Quo-Family and all Hinterland visitors can only send them into „retirement“ with a big thank you for eight wonderful, exciting Rockin‘ Hinterland festivals. „Mach et juut, my Siechburjer girl“.

FRANTIC QUO, on the other hand, already has the next appearance on the screen. On September 2nd, we’re going to Recklinghausen for „Rock am Hafen goes Vestland“, a two-day rock festival, which is also known in musical circles as the „small Wacken of the Ruhr area“. FQ will be on stage at 4.30pm on Saturday. So if you don’t have plans yet, you can see the Status Quo rockers live on stage again for an admission price of only EUR 0.99 (!!!).
