Perfekt! Status Quo Tributeband “Belgian Quo Band” kommt im August für zwei Konzerte nach Deutschland!

Sympathische Band spielt am 15.08. in Buchholz und 16.08. in Oberhausen – Beide Konzerte mit Original-Quo-Drummer Leon Cave – Band gibt auch Sommerkonzerte in Holland und Frankreich

„Hellooooooo!!! Is there anybody out there who wants to rock?“ Welcher Rock-Fan kennt nicht diese legendäre Band-Ankündigung von Status Quo, die Jackie Lynton 1977 in Glasgow ins Mikrofon schrie und die heute unter den Fans unerreichbaren Legendenstatus erreicht hat. Status Quo gibt es seit 1962 und hat damit satte 63 Jahre Existenz auf dem Buckel. Nach der letzten großen Deutschland-Tour in 2024, gab es in diesem Jahr keine Quo-Konzerte und ob die Band 2026 vielleicht nochmal ein letzte Live-Tour spielen wird, steht in den Sternen.

Wie gut das die Fans auf sehr gute Tribute Bands zurückgreifen können, die sich allesamt zur Aufgabe gemacht haben, das große Erbe der englischen Rockband weiter in die Welt hinauszutragen. Eine davon ist die BELGIAN QUO BAND, deren Gründungsjahr in 2007 notiert ist, damit nicht nur schon 18 Jahre besteht, sondern auch in den letzten Jahren einen stetigen Aufstieg und eine große Anerkennung in der Musikszene erhalten hat.

Und das Beste: Sie kommen nach Deutschland für zwei Konzerte. Am Freitag, den 15. August 2025, spielt die BELGIAN QUO BAND um 20.00 Uhr im niedersächsischen Buchholz, wo sie im „Empore“, dem Veranstaltungszentrum in der Nordheide, den vielen Rock-Fans im Norden der Republik ein Konzert präsentieren werden. Einen Tag später reist die Crew nach Oberhausen in den Ruhrpott, wo sie im „Ebertbad“ eine weitere Show abrocken werden (16.08.25 um 20.00 Uhr).

Und jetzt kommt das Allerbeste: An beiden Tagen wird Leon Cave, der offizielle Schlagzeuger von Status Quo, an den Drumms sitzen. Cave ist seit 2013 bei QUO und bildet damit ein großes Mosaikstück zu der großen Geschichte von einer der größten Live-Rockband, die die Musikgeschichte je hervorgebracht hat. Der 48-jährige ist ohne Frage ein Multiinstrumentalist. Mit Schlagzeug, Gitarre, Bass, Gesang und Songwriting verfügt er über ideale Voraussetzungen eines guten Musikers, die ihn bis ganz nach oben gebracht haben.

Über die vielen Jahre hat sich eine große Freundschaft zwischen Leon Cave und der BELGIAN QUO BAND entwickelt. Auch Quo-Gitarrist Richie Malone und Quo-Basser John „Rhino“ Edwards standen in der Vergangenheit schon vielfach mit den sympathischen Belgiern auf den Bühnenbrettern und rockten zusammen bis zum Morgengrauen, womit sie ihnen eine sehr große Anerkennung erwiesen.

Die Band steht für eine unvergessliche Live-Performance mit den großen Klassikern von Status Quo. Mit “Down Down”, “Roll over lay down”, “Caroline”, “Rockin’ all over the world”, “Whatever you want” und vielen mehr, hat die Equipe unzähligen Quo-Meilensteine aus 60 Jahren Status Quo-Musikgeschichte in ihrem Repertoire. Der Gig-Kalender der Band ist randvoll und die Band erfreut sich einer großen Beliebtheit.

Geert Callens an der Parfitt-Gitarre, Rik Michels als Rossi-Frontman, Lieven Vandenbroucke am Quo-Bass und Wesley Jaques an den Drumms nehmen das Publikum innerhalb weniger Sekunden mit auf eine musikalische Zeitreise aus über 60 Jahre Status Quo-Musikgeschichte. Die Band überzeugt nicht nur musikalisch, sie spiegelt auch in ihren Gigs eine große Leidenschaft und Portion Dankbarkeit wider. Dankbarkeit, dass sie ihre Leidenschaft leben und ausüben dürfen. Deshalb stehen Benefizveranstaltungen und ähnliches immer wieder in ihren Auftragsbüchern, wofür ihnen gerade in den letzten Jahren viel Respekt gezollt wurde.

Alle Musiker sind mit Status Quo, dem einzigartigen Boogie-Rock groß geworden und haben den vielzitierten Groove im Blut. Während Geert Callens und Rik Michels auf der Bühne in ihrer Parfitt- und Rossi-Rolle den Ton angeben, sind sie privat ruhiger gestrickt und legen viel Wert auf Familie und Enkelkinder. Anders sieht es da schon bei Basser Lieven Vandenbroucke aus, der sich neben seinem normalen Job viel um die logistischen und organisatorischen Bandangelegenheiten kümmert.

Eine große Hilfe ist ihm dabei Freundin Ammi Stelter. Die gebürtige Schwedin nimmt ihm dabei viel Arbeit ab und ist aus dem „BQB-Unternehmen“ nicht mehr wegzudenken. Nicht viel anders geht es Wesley Jaques, der sich eindrucksvoll und sehr erfolgreich um die Öffentlichkeitsarbeit der Band kümmert. So gehören die umfangreichen organisatorischen Tätigkeiten, tolle Radio-Interviews und die Pflege der Band-Homepage zu seinen vielfältigen Aufgaben, welche er mit großer Leidenschaft erfüllt.

Auf eine ganz besonders große Sache ist die Band allerdings sehr stolz. Über die Jahre hat sich eine riesengroße Fan-Gemeinschaft für die Band entwickelt – die Belgian Quo-Army! Die Gemeinschaft ist sehr innig und führt sogar soweit, dass zu verschiedenen BQB-Gigs Busfahrten organisiert und durchgeführt werden. Alle sehr sympathische Menschen, die seit ihren jungen Jahren den Boogie-Rock im Blut haben. Auch hier hat die Band mit Freddy Declercq einen perfekt unterstützenden Burschen gefunden, der die Band wann immer es geht mit Rat und Tat unterstützt. Das gilt auch für Guido & Isabelle, die sich mit Leib und Seele der Verantwortung als Band-Roadies stellen.

Aus diesen Zeilen wird ersichtlich, dass die BELGIAN QUO BAND nicht nur eine phantastische Tributeband ist, sondern auch ein phantastisches Umfeld hat und genießt, dass sich so viele Gleichgesinnte an der Arbeit der Band erfreuen. Das ist ein großer Part, der die Band von Konzert zu Konzert trägt und wofür sie sehr dankbar ist.

„Hellooooooo!!! Is there anybody out there who wants to rock?“ What rock fan doesn’t know this legendary announcement by Status Quo, which Jackie Lynton shouted into the microphone in Glasgow in 1977 and which has now achieved unattainable legendary status among fans. Status Quo has been around since 1962 and has thus celebrated a whopping 63 years of existence. After the last major German tour in 2024, there were no Quo concerts this year, and whether the band will play one last live tour in 2026 is anyone’s guess.

How fortunate that fans can rely on excellent tribute bands, all of whom have made it their mission to spread the great legacy of the English rock band further around the world. One of them is the „BELGIAN QUO BAND,“ founded in 2007, which means they’ve not only been around for 18 years, but have also experienced steady growth and great recognition in the music scene in recent years.

And the best part: They’re coming to Germany for two concerts. On Friday, August 15, 2025, the BELGIAN QUO BAND will play at 8:00 PM in Buchholz, Lower Saxony, where they will present a concert at the „Empore,“ the event center in the Nordheide region, to the many rock fans in the north of Germany. One day later, the crew will travel to Oberhausen in the Ruhr region, where they’ll rock out another show at the „Ebertbad“ (August 16, 2025, at 8:00 PM).

And now comes the best part: Leon Cave, the official drummer of Status Quo, will be on drums on both days. Cave has been with QUO since 2013, forming a significant piece of the mosaic of the great story of one of the greatest live rock bands ever to emerge in music history. The 48-year-old is without question a multi-instrumentalist. With drums, guitar, bass, vocals, and songwriting skills, he possesses the ideal qualities of a good musician that have taken him to the top.

Over the years, a great friendship has developed between Leon Cave and the Belgian Quo Band. Quo guitarist Richie Malone and Quo bassist John „Rhino“ Edwards have also shared the stage with the likeable Belgians many times in the past, rocking together until dawn, thus paying them great tribute.

The band stands for an unforgettable live performance featuring the great classics of Status Quo. With „Down Down,“ „Roll Over Lay Down,“ „Caroline,“ „Rockin‘ All Over the World,“ „Whatever You Want,“ and many more, the band’s repertoire includes countless Quo milestones from 60 years of Status Quo music history. The band’s gig calendar is packed, and the band enjoys immense popularity.

Geert Callens on Parfitt guitar, Rik Michels as Rossi frontman, Lieven Vandenbroucke on Quo bass, and Wesley Jaques on drums take the audience on a musical journey through over 60 years of Status Quo music history in just a few seconds. The band not only impresses musically, they also reflect a great passion and a sense of gratitude in their gigs. Gratitude for being able to live and pursue their passion. That’s why they’re always on the books for benefit events and similar events, for which they’ve received a great deal of respect, especially in recent years.

All musicians grew up with Status Quo, their unique boogie-rock, and have the oft-quoted groove in their veins. While Geert Callens and Rik Michels set the tone on stage in their Parfitt and Rossi roles, they are more quiet in their private lives and place great value on family and grandchildren. It’s a different story for bassist Lieven Vandenbroucke, who, in addition to his regular job, takes care of the band’s logistical and organizational matters.

His girlfriend Ammi Stelter is a great help in this regard. The Swedish native takes on a lot of his workload and has become an integral part of the „BQB company.“ Wesley Jaques is no different, impressively and very successfully handling the band’s public relations. His diverse responsibilities include extensive organizational activities, great radio interviews, and maintaining the band’s website, which he performs with great passion.

However, the band is particularly proud of one thing. Over the years, a huge fan base has developed for the band – the Belgian Quo Army! This community is very close-knit, even going so far as to organize and run bus trips to various BQB gigs. They’re all very likeable people who have had boogie rock in their veins since their early years. Here, too, the band has found a perfectly supportive guy in Freddy Declercq, who supports the band with advice and assistance whenever possible. This also applies to Guido & Isabelle, who embrace their responsibility as band roadies wholeheartedly.

From these lines, it’s clear that the BELGIAN QUO BAND is not only a fantastic tribute band, but also has a fantastic environment and enjoys the fact that so many like-minded people enjoy the band’s work. This is a huge part that carries the band from concert to concert, and for which they are very grateful.
